There are certain books that hit you at exactly the right time — and they change you. Whether it’s a mindset shift, a jolt of inspiration, or just a good story that sticks with you long after, these books left a mark on how I see the world and live in it.
Here are five that opened my eyes, cracked me open, and left me a little more inspired.

This one hit me hard. I don’t remember every detail, but I remember how I felt reading it — calm, aware, and deeply present. It helped me slow down, notice more, and start asking better questions about life. The journey of self-discovery and finding peace outside of noise really stayed with me.

Weird. Whimsical. Wildly insightful. This book was like nothing else I’ve ever read. It’s technically about music, but it’s really about life, energy, presence, and intuition. It’s full of little mind-bending lessons wrapped in strange stories. One of those books that somehow makes you a better thinker without trying to.

A short read but a powerful reminder that every moment is a once-in-a-lifetime event. It helped me appreciate the tiny things, embrace impermanence, and see the beauty in even the most ordinary parts of life. I think the parable of the cracked pots was in this one — and it hit me so hard it brought tears to my eyes.
📖 Grab The Book of Ichigo Ichie on Amazon

This book is just… brilliant. Hilarious, honest, and oddly moving. It tells the story of an alien trying to understand humans — and in doing so, reveals so many beautiful (and ridiculous) truths about us. It made me laugh and reflect at the same time. The list near the end of the book? One of the most heart-hitting things I’ve ever read.

A beautiful blend of surfing, spirituality, and travel — this book captures the feeling of searching for meaning in motion. I don’t remember every chapter, but I remember how it made me feel: inspired, emotional, and grateful to be alive. It’s about the in-between moments, and learning through experience, which aligns perfectly with how I try to live now.

These books didn’t just entertain me — they nudged me in a new direction. If you’re in a place where you’re craving more meaning, creativity, or connection, one of these might meet you where you are.
